Protect faith-based aged care

Right now in NSW, religious retirement villages or residential facilities are forced to allow “voluntary assisted dying” (VAD) on their premises. Even though individuals have the right to conscientious objection, faith-based institutions do not.

Susan Carter MLC has just introduced a bill into the NSW Legislative Council that would fix this, and protect faith-based institutions from being forced to have these procedures in their communities.

Write to NSW MLCs now and ask them to back this bill!

Dear Members of the Legislative Council,

I am writing to urge you to support the upcoming amendment aimed at safeguarding faith-based aged care facilities from being compelled to allow assisted suicide on their premises.

Protecting the ability of these religious institutions to operate in alignment with their values and beliefs is essential. These facilities provide not just physical care, but also spiritual comfort and support for residents who choose them for these reasons. Ensuring they are not forced into actions contrary to their foundational principles is vital for maintaining the diversity and integrity of our aged care options. Thank you for considering this important issue and defending religious freedoms in Australia.
