Briefly introduce yourself. Say that you live in their electorate and mention any connection you have with a local church, faith community or community organisation.
Concerns
Say you are very concerned about the Greens’ “conversion practices” legislation.
Explain your biggest personal concerns.
- We still don’t understand what is, and is not, a “conversion practice”.
- Conversion practices are still defined as “child abuse” – even if it was consensual and does not cause any harm
- Our parents, churches and communities don’t know what they can and cannot say, teach and pray without falling foul of the law.
Conclude
Ask them to commit to rejecting this bill.
Include your name and address, so they know you are a member of their electorate.
