"Conversion Therapy"
Legislation

The WA Government has been running a consultation on “conversion therapy” legislation that has included many LGBTIQ activist groups and some Christian denominations, but has excluded many other denominations and faith groups. The consultation paper recommends implementing restrictions modelled on Victorian legislation, that has made many forms of religious teaching and prayer illegal, as well as restricting what parents can say to their children.

The Victorian laws are so extreme they have been rejected by NSW and South Australia, who consulted widely with faith leaders when they wrote their legislation.

Western Australia cannot afford to follow Victoria’s lead.

Now is the time to write to your MP and tell them to protect the freedom of speech and religion for all families and faiths.
