I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on your recent election victory and subsequent appointment as the leader of the Opposition. Your leadership role carries immense responsibility and presents an opportunity to make a positive impact on our nation. I am particularly grateful for the commitments the Opposition has made to protect religious freedom. Your dedication to defending freedoms such as religion, speech, and protection from discrimination on the grounds of faith is truly commendable. It is reassuring to know that you are also committed to safeguarding the rights of religious organisations, including faith-based schools, to employ staff aligned with their beliefs. Your promises in these areas are crucial for maintaining a society that respects and values diverse faiths and perspectives. I look forward to seeing the Opposition uphold these commitments and hold the Government accountable to protecting religious freedom. Rest assured, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you undertake this critical role in serving our community.
