You may choose to mention one or all of these commitments:

  • Protecting the right of religious organisations, including faith-based schools, to employ staff based on faith.

(You can read more about the commitments here)

Tell them you are looking forward to seeing the Opposition keep their promises, and hold the Government accountable to protecting religious freedom.

Assure them you are praying for them as they serve the community (make sure you do pray!)

Include your name and address, so they know you are a member of their electorate.

Dear ,
or Dear ,

****{Introduce yourself and say something about your family, community, or your faith}****

Congratulations on your election victory. It is an exciting time as you begin your journey in Parliament. I want to extend my gratitude for the commitments made by the Opposition to safeguard religious freedom. The dedication to protecting freedom of religion, speech, and ensuring freedom from discrimination on religious grounds is immensely important. Allowing religious organisations, including faith-based schools, to employ staff based on their faith is something that upholds the values many hold dear. Your support and advocacy in these areas are truly valued. I look forward to seeing the Opposition's promises manifest in tangible outcomes and in holding the Government accountable for protecting these essential freedoms. Please know that you are in my prayers as you undertake the significant task of serving our community. May you have the strength and wisdom needed to navigate the challenges ahead.
